Notts County v Dagenham preview

Notts County will be aiming to get back to winning ways as they host early leaders Dagenham.

Magpies aim to bounce back against early leaders

Graeme Lee and Neal Bishop will remain out as Notts County aim to get back to winning ways at home to early leaders Dagenham & Redbridge. The League Two favourites began the season with two emphatic wins but tasted defeat for the first time on Wednesday night as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Chesterfield. Manager Ian McParland will probably choose from the same squad against Dagenham as defender Lee continues his recovery after undergoing surgery on the groin problem he aggravated at Macclesfield last weekend. Bishop missed the midweek defeat after suffering a rib injury at Moss Rose and is expected to stay on the sidelines for the Magpies. McParland may opt to reshuffle his attack having gone for Lee Hughes and Luke Rodgers ahead of Karl Hawley and Delroy Facey against Chesterfield.

Flawless start

Dagenham (12) are the only League Two side to have scored more goals than Notts County (10), and are joint top with Bournemouth after winning each of their opening three games. And manager John Still is expected to name an unchanged side having seen the Daggers bang in 10 goals in their last two. That will see Josh Scott remain strike partner to Paul Benson, who scored four goals in Tuesday's 5-0 home win against Shrewsbury. Jon Nurse could return on the bench after shrugging off the ankle injury he picked up in the opening-day win at Crewe, although fellow forward Mark Nwokeji is not expected to return from his cruciate knee injury until December. Young midfielder Harlee Dean, who has featured only as an unused substitute so far, has gone on a month-long loan to Blue Square South side Braintree Town.
