Fulham v Everton preview

Fulham hope that they can preserve unbeaten home record

Martin Jol hopes his team brush off their Europa League disappointment as they return to domestic matters by hosting Everton at Craven Cottage. The West London side were beaten 1-0 by Wisla Krakow which was compounded by the harsh dismissal of striker Moussa Dembele. In their last outing in the Premier League the Cottagers lost 2-0 against Stoke but at home they are a different proposition, as they remain unbeaten. They have good a record against David Moyes' side with the Toffees losing eight of their last 10 games at Craven Cottage. Both sides are level on points with seven, with just a point separating them from the relegation zone. Everton are traditionally slow starters under Moyes and this season has proved no different as they have won just two games so far. The Blues have lost their last three league games and were beaten in their last outing in west London by Chelsea last weekend. Everton's season was disrupted by the transfer deadline day sale of Mikel Arteta from which they have struggled to recover.

Team news

Victor Anichebe is ruled out with a groin injury that he picked up last month while on international duty with Nigeria. James McFadden may have to wait before he makes his second debut for the club as he has only played 45 minutes for the reserves since he re-signed for them. John Heitinga is a long-term injury casualty for Moyes with a knee injury and there is no scheduled date for his return. Phil Neville is pushing for a recall after coming on against Chelsea and impressing and Greek striker Apostolos Vellios could earn a starting berth after notching against the Blues. Fulham will be praying that influential playmaker Danny Murphy recovers from a knee injury after missing out on their defeat against Wisla Krakow. Simon Davies and new signing Brian Ruiz are both ruled out of the game with knee injuries, while Phillipe Senderos is also sidelined with a thigh strain. Bobby Zamora should be reinstated to the attack to pair up with Andy Johnson after missing out in the Europa League. Clint Dempsey should return to the Fulham line-up after he was rested in midweek.
