Northampton v Bury preview

Two out for Cobblers; Shakers have no worries

Northampton take on Bury in a game between two sides bidding to squeeze into the play-off spots on the final day of the season. Northampton must rely on a series of results to go their way if they are to make the final position available, but their goal difference may do them some favours if they are to see off the competition. The Cobblers will be without centre-back Dean Beckwith, who was sent off in their previous match at Bradford and serves a one match ban, whilst Abdul Osman pulled a thigh muscle in the defeat at Valley Parade and had to be withdrawn. Midfielder Luke Guttridge is set to return from a three game suspension and should replace Osman, with Craig Hinton likely to replace Beckwith at the back. "Abdul Osman pulled his thigh against Bradford so that's probably the end of his season," said Cobblers boss Ian Sampson. "We probably should have taken him off on Saturday but he picked up the injury with 15 minutes to go and we didn't have any subs left by that point."

Bury team news

Bury are also among the teams fighting for the chance to compete for promotion at Wembley, with a win possibly taking as high as fifth place should Morecambe or Dagenham and Redbridge slip up. Manager Alan Knill should be able to benefit from having almost a fully fit squad available at his disposal. David Worrall and Ryan Lowe missed training during the week, but the Shakers are confident they will be passed fit to play. "It's all down to one game now and we have to go for it. We have to do our own bit and see what happens," said Knill.
