Northampton are hopeful of having Andy Holt fit for the Boxing Day clash with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Cobblers hopeful Holt will be fit to face Dagenham

Northampton manager Ian Sampson is hopeful of having Andy Holt available for the Boxing Day clash with Dagenham & Redbridge. The defender missed the 1-1 draw with Port Vale a fortnight ago with a groin problem but is expected to return after last weekend's trip to Darlington was called off. Midfielder Luke Guttridge remains a doubt with a knee injury but could be a surprise inclusion. Sampson said: "The break has at least given some of the injured lads longer to recover. Andy Holt may be back for Boxing Day and Luke Guttridge will be 50-50 but I don't think the rest will be fit for Boxing Day. "The problem for Luke is we are struggling to get a lot of training into him with the weather as it is but we haven't ruled him out totally." Liam Davis (foot), Chris McCready (hamstring), Steve Guinan (groin) and Abdul Osman (back) remain sidelined but goalkeeper Billy Lumley will be included after signing on non-contract terms.

    Dagenham & Redbridge news

Dagenham boss John Still will be without Will Antwi once again. The defender suffered ankle ligament damage early in December and despite having an extra week to recover after last weekend's trip to Rotherham was postponed, he is still sidelined. Scott Doe will continue to fill in alongside Mark Arber as the Daggers look for the win which could move them back into the automatic promotion places. Midfielder Stuart Thurgood remains on the sidelines as he begins a three-month lay-off following a knee operation so on-loan Gillingham midfielder Adam Miller will continue. Still has no other injury concerns and will hope that striker Paul Benson can carry on from where he left off against Bury a fortnight ago, when his brace guided the Daggers to a 3-1 win.
