New signing Kristian Dennis could be handed a first start for Notts County when they host Yeovil on Friday night.
The striker was left out of the squad to face Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup during the week with a view to working on his fitness, and Kevin Nolan now expects him to be ready. Dennis, a summer signing from Chesterfield, faces a battle to displace Jon Stead who impressed despite defeat to Boro, while Kane Hemmings is also approaching peak condition.
Nolan made six changes on Tuesday night but may be tempted to stick with a similar side to the one that went out on penalties as the Magpies look to get their season up and running.
Darren Way's side travel to Nottingham with a cloud hanging over the involvement of several players following the midweek defeat to Aston Villa. Francois Zoko (knee), Shaun Donnellan (thigh) and Reece Cole (knee) are awaiting further assessments after picking up injuries this week.
Stuart Nelson (calf), Jake Gray (ankle), James Bailey (knee) and Jordan Green (suspension) will definitely miss out. Carl Dickinson and Yoann Arquin are both expected to feature against their former team as the Glovers seek their first win of the season.
Notts County have only one won of their previous five meetings with Yeovil (D2 L2), a 4-1 victory in their most recent game in April 2018.
When at home, the Magpies have only failed to score on one occasion against Yeovil (0-0, February 2017).
Yeovil have failed to win any of their previous 10 League Two games (D4 L6) - their longest winless streak in the Football League since December 2015 (run of 16).
Notts County manager Kevin Nolan is unbeaten in his three matches against Yeovil Town (W1 D2), winning his most recent match against the Glovers 4-1.
Francois Zoko has scored two goals in three appearances against Notts County, including Yeovil's equaliser in a 1-1 draw in November 2017.
