QPR v Reading preview

Image: Helguson: Set to return

Team news for QPR's Championship clash with Reading at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Heidar Helguson could return to the QPR attack. The striker was ruled out of last weekend's 1-1 draw against Burnley with a shoulder injury but boss Neil Warnock is hopeful he will be fit. Rob Hulse made his full debut in Helguson's absence after shaking off an Achilles injury to give Warnock a selection dilemma. Cypriot midfielder Georgios Tofas this week signed until the end of the season after a successful trial but he has a hamstring injury. Forward Rowan Vine could be restored to the squad having returned from a one-month loan at Hull. Akos Buzsaky will be out for five weeks after knee surgery while Lee Cook and Peter Ramage (both knee) are long-term absentees. Forward Noel Hunt is pushing for a recall when Reading. Hunt came off the bench to inspire a stirring comeback in the 4-3 win over Doncaster last weekend and could start if boss Brian McDermott changes his formation at London Road. Winger Jimmy Kebe could return after missing the last two games with a knee injury. He is being monitored and a last-minute decision will be made on Saturday. Icelandic midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson will again miss out through a hamstring injury so Jay Tabb, Jem Karacan and Brian Howard will continue in the middle. Striker Simon Church has come off the bench to score in the last two games but will still be out of the side as McDermott sticks with Shane Long.
