Reading ended their Sky Bet League One campaign on a sour note as their late-season drop in form continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to Blackpool.
In a poor first half, the most notable moments were fine saves from home goalkeeper Joel Pereira to deny Karoy Anderson and Dale Taylor.
It was only marginally better after the break, with the Tangerines clinching victory through a CJ Hamilton piledriver in the 75th minute.

The Royals had slumped dramatically having occupied a top-six spot as recent as early April, ending the campaign with just two wins in 11 matches.
With nothing riding on the result, neither side showed much creativity in a predictably low-key opening.
In a sudden burst of brilliance, though, Blackpool almost went in front when Anderson's fierce 20-yard attmept was superbly tipped over by Pereira.
Just before the break, Pereira again excelled with a fine stop to keep out Taylor's angled effort.
Reading, booed off at half-time by sections of their disgruntled fans, slightly improved after the break but were unable to fashion any clear-cut chances.
The visitors made them pay when, 15 minutes from time, Hamilton latched onto an error by Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan and lashed the ball past Pereira.
