Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Reading and Bradford

Managerless Bradford squandered a half-time advantage and the outright lead of Sky Bet League One as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Reading.

City, without a boss since Graham Alexander left for Championship Preston on Monday, started superbly at the SCL Stadium and led in the fourth-minute through Jake Beesley's precise header.

However, Reading gradually improved and they levelled in the 66th minute through defender Udoka Godwin-Malife.

With joint interim managers Mark Trueman and Colin Doyle in charge, the Bantams sprung into action early on.

Bobby Pointon escaped down the left flank and his pinpoint cross was met by Beesley, who powerfully headed his first goal of the season.

The Royals tried to respond and mostly dominated before the break but, without injured eight-goal top scorer Jack Marriott, were largely punchless in attack.

Bantams keeper Cameron Dawson had to make only regulation saves from Lewis Wing and Barry Lane before half-time.

Pointon could have doubled City's lead after the interval, only for home goalkeeper Joel Pereira to make a fine save.

Reading levelled soon after when Randell Williams' long throw from the left caused havoc in the Bradford area, with Godwin-Malife hammering home the loose ball for his first goal for the club.

It meant the Bantams slip to second in the table, behind Plymouth on goal difference.
