Reading want ahead in the third minute when Williams' intended cross from the right drifted in over keeper Luca Ashby-Hammond.

The visitors levelled in six minutes when defender Mitchell volleyed home from a Ronan Curtis corner.

The Royals regained their lead in the 18th minute when centre-back O'Connor bundled the ball in at the back post from a Lewis Wing corner.

Argyle emerged stronger after the break to once again level when Watts notched his seventh goal of the season from close range after the home side failed to clear.

Reading could have snatched it near the end but Ashby-Hammond saved well from Kamari Doyle and Lane drove the rebound wide.
