Image: Robinson: In the reckoning for Rovers

Team news ahead of Tuesday's League One clash between Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers at Spotland Stadium.

Manager John Coleman could name an unchanged side for this fixture. On-loan Bournemouth striker Michael Symes hit a hat-trick as Dale overcame neighbours Oldham 3-2 on Saturday to move within touching distance of npower League One safety and Coleman has no new injury worries. Striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro returned from a hamstring strain to feature as a second-half substitute against Latics, although he is unlikely to oust Tope Obadeyi alongside Symes after the Bolton loanee came in to make his second debut for the Spotland outfit. Phil Edwards may come into contention in defence having made his Dale bow from the bench at the weekend following his loan move from Stevenage. Centre-back Kevin Amankwaah remains absent with a groin injury while Simon Hackney (abdominal) is a long-term absentee. Meanwhile, Andy Robinson is pushing for a return to the Tranmere line-up. Robinson recently returned from knee surgery and the attacking midfielder scored in the back-to-back wins over Leyton Orient and Preston before being rested as an unused substitute for Saturday's 1-1 draw at Sheffield United. Zoumana Bakayoko came in for Robinson and made his first start on the wing following a lengthy absence with a shin injury. Striker Jake Cassidy made his debut from the bench against the Blades after completing a loan move from Wolves late on Friday and the 19-year-old is pushing for a start. Adam McGurk (broken cheekbone), Mark McChrystal (hernia) and Martin Devaney (hamstring) remain on the sidelines. Rovers are unbeaten in four games since Ronnie Moore replaced Les Parry as manager earlier this month, moving six points clear of the relegation zone following a pair of wins and draws.
