    Blades look for play-off spot

Just three points separate Sheffield United and Middlesbrough as the two clubs meet at Bramall Lane. After an indifferent spell, the Blades are enjoying a decent run of form having lost just one match in their last nine. New Boro boss Gordon Strachan, however, has endured a miserable run since taking over and has just two wins from his ten games in charge. Victory for United could see them push into the play-off places, whilst Boro will be looking to make sure they do not drop further off the pace. United are boosted by the news that Matt Kilgallon and Darius Henderson are fit for the clash. Kilgallon missed the midweek FA Cup third round replay against QPR with a hamstring injury. Henderson was on the bench for the match with QPR because of a muscle problem, but like with Kilgallon, he could be restored to the starting line-up. Jamie Ward and Lee Williamson are also set to overcome niggles to make the squad, but Henri Camara is out.

    Boro news

Middlesbrough need to decide whether to hand debuts to all three of their new signings from Celtic. Barry Robson and Willo Flood seem certain to come into midfield, but striker Chris Killen may have to make do with a place on the bench. Jeremie Aliadiere is fit again and looks set to start, with Marcus Bent also set to play his final game before returning to Birmingham.
