Blades ready to take on Iron

Sheffield United and Scunthorpe are both in need of the points but for differing reasons as they prepare to clash at Bramall Lane. The Blades still harbour ambitions of finishing the season in the play-off places, but have ground to make up on the top six after just one win in their last six. Scunthorpe are still not clear of relegation danger this term, but have climbed away from danger after back-to-back victories.

    Blades news

Sheffield United's Chris Morgan, Darius Henderson and Henri Camara will have fitness tests ahead of Sunday's home clash. All three players were among an extensive injured list and missed the midweek draw at Cardiff. Central defender and skipper Morgan sustained a knock in training during his recent two-game ban, Henderson has been struggling with a hamstring problem and fellow striker Camara hopes to shake off a groin strain. Defender Andy Taylor was replaced late on at Cardiff due to a groin injury and could also be doubtful, while forwards Jamie Ward (hamstring) and Ched Evans (collarbone) remain sidelined. Manager Kevin Blackwell was forced to include midfielders Lee Williamson (hamstring) and Mark Yeates on the bench on Wednesday night when they were not fully fit and they too will be assessed nearer to kick-off. Defender Toni Kallio (calf) and long-term absentees Gary Naysmith, Ryan France (both knee) and Derek Geary (ankle) remain sidelined.
    Iron news
Scunthorpe striker Gary Hooper is set for a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane. The 22-year-old has hit 13 goals this season but has missed the last four games with a groin injury and manager Nigel Adkins will make a late decision on his fitness. Midfielder Martyn Woolford may also miss out after limping out of the 4-0 victory over Peterborough in midweek with an ankle injury. Fellow midfielder Matthew Sparrow picked up a hamstring injury against Posh and will also be monitored closely before kick-off. Defender Michael Raynes missed out on Tuesday due to illness but could come back in while Garry Thompson is struggling after suffering a kick to the foot in that game. Skipper Cliff Byrne serves the fourth game of a five-match suspension, while Ian Morris (knee) also remains on the sidelines.
