Sheffield Wednesday hope Akpo Sodje will be fit to face Barnsley, who have no fresh worries.

Sodje doubt for Owls, no new problems for Tykes

Sheffield Wednesday hope Akpo Sodje will be fit to face Barnsley, who have no fresh worries. Sodje took a knock in the 0-0 draw at QPR on Saturday and was forced off early in the second half. Deon Burton replaced Sodje at Loftus Road and is on stand-by for the Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough. Midfielder Glenn Whelan is struggling with a similar injury sustained in last week's Republic of Ireland B international. Whelan missed out at QPR and Yoann Folly will retain his place in the starting line-up if the Irishman fails a late fitness test. Boss Brian Laws has no other new injury or suspension problems and is unlikely to make any other changes as his side look to extend their five-match unbeaten run.

Barnsley news

Tykes manager Simon Davey has no fresh injury or suspension problems after his side's eye-catching 3-2 win over leaders Watford on Saturday. The Tykes completed the loan signing of Everton midfielder Anderson De Silva for a second stint at Oakwell in time to face Watford and the Brazilian is expected to retain his place in the starting line-up. Sam Togwell should again start on the substitutes' bench alongside Kayode Odejayi, Paul Reid and Kim Christensen, with Istvan Ferenczi and on-loan Derby striker Jon Macken retaining their places up front.
