Shrewsbury v Hereford preview

Image: Simpson: Selection luxury

Shrewsbury have the luxury of a full-strength squad to choose from for the visit of local rivals Hereford.

Shrews at full strength; Trewick to make late decision on trio

Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson has the luxury of a full-strength squad to choose from for the visit of local rivals Hereford. Right-back Dean Holden (hamstring), striker Jake Simpson (knee) and reserve goalkeeper Andres Arestidou (hernia) have all returned after injury. Shrews' treatment room has been a busy one from the word go this season with almost every player, at one stage or another, on the sidelines. But as the Bulls prepare to come to Town, Simpson has different selection issues to ponder.

Hereford news

Hereford manager John Trewick, meanwhile, will leave it as late as possible before naming his side for the derby clash. Defensive duo Ryan Green (hernia) and Richard Rose (knee) and striker Lee Morris (knee) all returned to training this week but it remains to be seen whether any of them will be deemed fit enough to play. Of the three, Rose stands the best chance of being involved should he not suffer any complications in training ahead of the crunch clash. Midfielder Jamie Tolley (shin) and defender Tyler Weir (abductor) are the only players in the treatment room, with the latter battling to be fit in time for the Prostar encounter having come off during last weekend's 1-0 win over Torquay. Meanwhile, Keith Lowe has been suffering with illness but should be fit, while fellow defender Ryan Valentine returns from suspension. Trewick named an unchanged team last Saturday as Hereford secured a second successive victory but question marks over Weir's availability could force him into a defensive change this time around.
