Switzerland suffered a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Uruguay in their friendly meeting ahead of this summer's World Cup finals.
Both teams fielded experimental line-ups with the Swiss looking shaky from the off and the visitors seizing the early initiative.
But the hosts recovered from their early wobbles and went ahead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute through Gokhan Inler and Marco Strellar was fouled.
But Uruguay hit back soon after with striker Diego Forlan left unmarked to head home a cross from Maxi Pereira.
And Luis Suarez volleyed home from a corner soon after the interval to give the South American side a deserved lead.
Substitute Edison Cavani added a third shortly before the final whistle and they could have had several more with a little more composure in front of goal.
