Samuel Edozie's second-half equaliser ensured Southampton and West Brom shared the points from a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.
Both teams started the season in promising fashion and taking a point apiece means the sides continue their respective unbeaten runs after a game of two halves.
West Brom completely dominated the first half as Southampton failed to register a single shot in the opening 45 and Isaac Price notched from the penalty spot to give the hosts a deserved half-time lead for his fifth goal of the season.
For all the hosts' dominance, Tonda Eckert's side turned the tables in the second period and found an equaliser through Edozie.
Both teams missed chances to take three points in an entertaining affair which would have lifted either into the top two.
The hosts were fresh off their victory at West Ham, and their confidence showed - they should have been a goal to the good in the fifth minute but Jimmy-Jay Morgan blazed over while one-on-one with Daniel Peretz.
The Baggies continued their sustained period of attack and forced Peretz into a first save when he needed to touch Molumby's effort from range over the crossbar.
West Brom had a chance to get a deserved opener from the spot after Rabby Nzingoula latched onto Molumby's perfectly weighted ball and was brought down by Jack Stephens' lazy leg inside the box.
And Price made no mistake in sending Peretz the wrong way and dispatching right to put West Brom a goal up.
The visitors were unable to deal with West Brom's press and were getting completely ran over by the hosts, and Price should have had his second three minutes before the break but curled wide.
Things could only get better for the Saints after the break, and they certainly started a lot better and were rewarded with a goal with their first shot on target.
Ryan Manning flinged a cross to the far post and Kuryu Matsuki's header across goal landed at the feet of Edozie who smashed in from close range.
West Brom almost reacted perfectly with an equaliser. Callum Styles was first to get his head onto Nat Phillips' cross but his header was cleared off the line by Stephens.
Southampton went searching for a second and could have had one when Finn Azaz tamely aimed at Max O'Leary instead of squaring to Divin Mubama.
It was wave after wave of Saints attack, and West Brom needed O'Leary again to to stop Azaz's deflected cross from going in.
Southampton missed a glorious chance for the win when Azaz put Lewis Dobbin one on one but the substitute was denied by O'Leary when he ought to have scored.
West Brom could have nicked it themselves after Ousmane Diakite carried it 50 yards with a rapid counter-attack, he fed to Tammer Bany who rattled a post.

The managers
West Brom's James Morrison:
"Two very good teams. Thought we were really good first half. My only critic really is could we have scored one more and give us a bit more of a cushion.
"The energy we put into it, it was going to be hard to replicate that second half. With them being such a good team, the reaction came and we just couldn't see it out.
"Both teams had chances and it was a good advertisement for the Championship. On a whole, it's a very good performance.
"You expect that (a reaction), because we were so dominant. To limit Southampton to no shots on our goal. We just couldn't get through that 10 minutes where they had it."
Southampton's Tonda Eckert:
"Two very different halves. Take the first half, it's a quick turnaround and I think we've given them too much respect in the first half.
"Second half was a completely different game, there's a couple of chances in there to win it in the second half. If you look at the 90 minutes today I think you take the point. I think it is a fair result, we take it and move on to Preston.
"Two teams that played to win. We had chances to score a second one but fair play to West Brom, they are a good team and not easy to come up against.
"We need to make sure we get three (points) on Saturday, then I think we have played a decent first block."
