Liverpool have explored the conditions of a deal for Paris Saint-Germain's teenage winger Ibrahim Mbaye.

The 18-year-old, who predominantly plays off the right, is believed to be interested in moving to Anfield.

The Senegal international is one of a number of targets Liverpool are looking at to strengthen in wide attacking areas, which is their priority in this transfer window.

Liverpool also have a strong interest in Mbaye's PSG team-mate Bradley Barcola, but are yet to make a formal offer for either player.

Their interest in Mbaye is completely independent of any potential move for Barcola.

It is possible that Liverpool could sign Mbaye and another more experienced option. As things stand, PSG's £145m valuation of Barcola makes that a difficult deal to do.

Liverpool are planning to have five wingers at the end of the window, with an additional one being a younger player they want to develop.

Youngest African to score at the World Cup

Sky Sports' Dev Trehan:

Mbaye, 18, primarily plays on the right wing, which is an area of the pitch that Liverpool have been looking to strengthen following the departure of club legend Mohamed Salah at the end of last season.

Victor Munoz has already arrived at Anfield this summer, while Liverpool have also shown interest in Mbaye's PSG team-mate Bradley Barcola.

Mbaye has come through the PSG youth system and made his debut in August 2024 as a 16-year-old.

The teenager is a Senegal international, making his bow in November 2025, having previously represented France at youth level.

Mbaye made history at the 2026 World Cup when he became the youngest African to score in the tournament, aged 18 years and 143 days old, in Senegal's 3-1 loss to France.
