Blackburn are likely to recall top scorer Bradley Dack to face West Brom.
The nine-goal top scorer, and former Albion target, was benched for the defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday.
Amari'i Bell missed the game because of illness and will be assessed. Elliott Bennett (foot) is fit but Craig Conway (muscle) is a doubt. Midfielder Ben Gladwin and forward Dominic Samuel (both knee) are out and Ryan Nyambe (hamstring) is a doubt.
West Brom are waiting on the result of their appeal following Jay Rodriguez's red card against Sheffield Wednesday. The striker was dismissed for an apparent stamp on Marco Matias by referee Andy Davies but replays suggested he was trying to jump over his opponent.
Dwight Gayle (hamstring) is out with the Baggies yet to reveal how long he will be sidelined. Boss Darren Moore has no fresh injury worries ahead of the trip to Ewood Park.
Blackburn last hosted West Brom in a league match at Ewood Park in December 2011 in what was a Premier League contest; the Baggies won 2-1 but haven't won back-to-back league visits at Blackburn since February 1898.
West Brom have won two of their last three league games against Blackburn (D1), as many as their previous 14 combined (W2 D6 L6).
Blackburn have never lost consecutive home league games under Tony Mowbray, last doing so in December 2016 when they were managed by Owen Coyle.
West Brom have lost eight of their last 10 away league matches on New Year's Day (D2), last winning in 1972 against Ipswich.
Blackburn haven't been beaten on New Year's Day at Ewood Park since 1977, when Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest won 3-1 (W4 D1 since).
West Brom are looking to win five consecutive away league matches for the first time since April 2002.
David Prutton predicts: 1-1 (11/2 with Sky Bet)
