Lincoln won for the first time in six Sky Bet League One matches with a 2-0 victory at Burton.
Harry Anderson timed his run to perfection to evade his marker and glance home a header at the near post, putting Michael Appleton's side in front after only two minutes.
Albion had Lincoln pinned back in their own half for long spells of the first half but frustratingly could not find a way through.
Scott Fraser, Liam Boyce and Lucas Akins all failed to hit the target before Boyce forced Josh Vickers into a good save midway through the first half.
In a rare foray forwards, Lincoln almost doubled their lead when John Akinde rattled the post and Jorge Grant could not beat Kieran O'Hara with the follow-up.
The second half continued with Albion pushing for an elusive equaliser and they made unsuccessful appeals for a penalty when Fraser looked to have been clipped as he prepared to shoot.
Substitute Tyler Walker wrapped up victory for the Imps in stoppage time, firing in after more good work from Anderson.
