Forest Green got their league campaign back on track with a 2-1 win against a Carlisle side whose home jinx struck once more.
Goals from new boy Ben Morris and Carl Winchester helped the visitors respond to their back to back defeats in League Two.
Jamie Devitt raised Carlisle's hopes with a late penalty, but it was not enough to prevent the Cumbrians going down to a sixth home defeat of the campaign.
An early miss by Carlisle forward Hallam Hope proved costly as Forest Green's patient probing paid off with a 12th-minute strike by Morris, a first career goal for the on-loan Ipswich man making his initial start for Rovers.
It came after a Reece Brown shot had taken a deflection. Morris pounced on the loose ball in the box to drive it low through Adam Collin's legs into the net.
Twice Collin had to spring into action after the break, saving a low effort from Winchester then going full length to get a hand to Brown's well-placed effort which looked to be heading inside the goalkeeper's right post.
After Gary Liddle had seen his header cleared off the line following a Carlisle corner, it was Forest Green who made it 2-0 in the 71st minute. Brown gathered a long goal-kick to link with Winchester, who had time and space to pick his spot and score.
A handball led to a Carlisle penalty in the 78th minute and Devitt made no mistake from the spot, hammering the ball firmly inside the left post, but Rovers held on.
