Herbie Kane is a doubt for Doncaster's Sky Bet League One clash with Sunderland.
The on-loan Liverpool midfielder was withdrawn shortly after half-time during Rovers' 3-3 draw against Gillingham at the weekend and could miss the Black Cats' visit because of a dead leg.
Joe Wright is set to return in defence after missing the thriller against the Gills due to a one-match suspension. Tom Anderson is likely to drop out of the starting XI. Midfielder Tommy Rowe's hamstring injury has kept him sidelined since early September and he once again misses out.
Josh Maja is expected to retain his place in Sunderland's starting XI despite missing training on Monday as a precautionary measure. Sunderland's nine-goal top scorer was taken off early in the second half of the 2-0 win at Shrewsbury at the weekend and continues to have niggling ankle trouble, but that is not expected to sideline him on Tuesday night.
Defender Bryan Oviedo is set to complete a three-match ban while midfielder Max Power will serve the second game of his four-game suspension for his second red card of the season against Bradford. Defender Glenn Loovens will once again miss out but is set to return to training on Thursday while Charlie Wyke, Denver Hume and Donald Love are further away from a comeback.
Doncaster have only faced Sunderland twice previously in the league - they lost both matches in the 1987-88 season.
Sunderland have only lost once to Doncaster in their entire history - a 0-2 defeat in the FA Cup third round in January 1954.
Doncaster have lost just two of their last 11 league games (W5 D4), despite failing to keep a clean sheet in each of their last nine fixtures.
Sunderland are the only team to have scored in 100% of their games in League One this term, scoring in each of their 13 so far (W7 D5 L1).
Sunderland's Josh Maja has the best mins/goal ratio of any player in League One this term (among players with 5+ goals), averaging a strike every 113.8 minutes.
