Wolfsburg saw their four-match winning streak come to an end as they played out a 1-1 draw at Nurnberg.

Wolfsburg saw their four-match winning streak come to an end as they played out a 1-1 draw at Nurnberg. Maximilian Arnold gave Wolfsburg the lead after 39 minutes but Daniel Ginczek equalised in the 72nd minute for Nurnberg. Despite not winning, Wolfsburg were able to improve to 22 points. Nurnberg remained winless but moved out of last place with eight points to rise to 17th. Nurnberg had the first chance after eight minutes but Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benaglio fended over the bar Josip Drmic's attempt from 23 yards. Wolfsburg were close after 14 minutes but Nurnberg keeper Raphael Schafer had a superb reaction to Ivica Olic's header from six yards out. The Croatian got past Schafer in the 27th minute but his shot went wide of the far right post of the empty goal. Olic's team-mate Arnold proved luckier after 39 minutes in giving Wolfsburg the lead as his long shot from 23 yards fluttered a bit and squirted past Schafer, who should have stopped the attempt. Wolfsburg nearly doubled the lead three minutes before the intermission but Makoto Hasebe found the post. The guests had another chance seven minutes after the break but Luis Gustavo's shot went just wide left. Wolfsburg missed another opportunity to double the advantage at the 62-minute mark as Diego's shot sailed just inches wide right. Nurnberg made the guests pay for their ineffectiveness as Ginczek had a fantastic run through the entire Wolfsburg defence and then beat Benaglio from about 14 yards out.
