On-loan defender out for hosts as Shrimps set to be unchanged

Grimsby Town will be without Olly Lancashire for the visit of Morecambe, who are expected to be unchanged. On-loan centre-half Lancashire was forced off after just 18 minutes of last weekend's goalless draw at Shrewsbury with a back/hamstring problem. He has gone back to parent club Southampton for treatment on the injury and could return to training with the Mariners next week. Joe Widdowson's return to fitness after a foot injury could prove timely. The defender, along with striker Nathan Jarman, travelled to Shrewsbury but were not included in the matchday squad. Either Widdowson or Nicky Featherstone, Lancashire's replacement at the New Meadow, will start. Jarman could also be included after regaining fitness following a broken metatarsal.

Morecambe news

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy will again name an unchanged team when his in-form side make the trip to Blundell Park. McIlroy has no new injury or suspension concerns but on-loan Huddersfield midfielder Ian Craney is still ruled out with an ankle injury. However, the Shrimps were given a boost this week when fellow midfielder Manny Panther returned to full training. Panther, on loan from Exeter, is making rapid progress in his recovery from a broken toe which has sidelined him since September. He sustained the injury in a collision with Sol Campbell in the Shrimps' 1-0 win over Notts County in the defender's only appearance for the Magpies. Panther could now feature in the Lancashire Senior Cup tie against Preston on Monday.
