Hereford v Burton preview

Hereford are to stick with a winning team against Burton, who now have Steve Kabba and Richard Jackson injured.

Bulls to stick with winning team as Burton have injury problems

Hereford United are likely to stick with a winning team against Burton Albion, who have seen Steve Kabba and Richard Jackson join the injury list. The Bulls are currently in a rich vein of form at Edgar Street and will be targeting a healthy return from their double header at home to Burton and Northampton. On Tuesday against Aldershot, manager John Trewick made two changes from the side that lost 3-1 at Shrewsbury last weekend - left-back Ryan Valentine coming in for Tyler Weir and Matt Done recalled in place of Craig King with Gavin McCallum moved up front. And the plan worked as McCallum grabbed his fourth goal in four games to help the Bulls on their way to a 2-0 triumph. Defender Ryan Green is hoping to prove his fitness in time to be considered for a place in Trewick's matchday 18 following his hernia operation. Midfielder Jamie Tolley needs a scan to assess the latest with his shin injury and will continue to play no part.

Burton news

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido has several injury absentees for the game, with Kabba and Jackson the latest to be struck down. Kabba is out with a hamstring injury picked up in training, while defender Jackson aggravated his groin and calf problem against Morecambe in midweek. Captain Darren Stride missed the back-to-back defeats to Crewe and Morecambe, and the defender has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation and is nursing a calf problem. Russell Penn limped off after just five minutes with a knee injury at home to Crewe a week ago. The midfielder missed the trip to Morecambe and he will remain on the sidelines. He is also likely to sit out the Accrington match on Tuesday night but he has a chance of being in the squad when Rotherham visit the Pirelli Stadium next weekend. Midfielder Michael Simpson is recovering from a stress fracture in his foot and is not expected to return until next month.
