WATCH: RANDOPLH'S BLUNDER
BORO 0-3 VILLA
That's it. Villa have taken apart the best defence in the English football league and in some style. Darren Randolph has had a campaign to remember but tonight was an evening to forget. This is statement territory for Villa.
90+3: This will end Boro's unbeaten run and they will need to quickly get this setback out of their system. The risk and reward under Dean Smith has been paying off since Steve Bruce's dismissal.
90+2: It's West Brom next up for Aston Villa at The Hawthorns on Friday night, and they head there in fine spirits. This will be Villa's fourth win in five games.
90: We're into four minutes of additional time at the Riverside as the home fans head for the exits.
89: "Pulis, what's the score?" comes the chant from the away end as the former West Brom boss stands arms folded on the touchline.
88: Villa have just been enjoying some keep-ball since the third. They're moving up to eighth place, just four points behind Boro in third.
GOAL! BORO 0-3 VILLA (Whelan, 83)
The points are heading down south as Glenn Whelan crashed in Villa's third.
Darren Randolph will not want to watch this one back, however, as he doesn't get behind Glenn Whelan's shot from the edge of the box, as the ball rolls over the line after calming off the Republic of Ireland keeper's gloves. Game over.
BORO 0-2 VILLA
81: OFF THE BAR! So close for Boro... Friend cuts it back for Hugill, who takes a touch before striking a fierce effort on goal, but Nyland manages to tip it onto the bar and it bounces a yard away from the goal-line before Villa clear.
WATCH: ABRAHAM GOAL
Six goals in a week for Abraham. Tammy's on fire!
78: SAVE! El Ghazi's cross finds Kodjia at the back post, and his header deflects into the grateful arms of Randoplh.
Down the other end, Braithwaite tries his luck from distance, but Nyland is wise to the effort and catches it easily.
76: Boro with very few chances this half as Villa look to see this one out. In fact, Boro have had just one shot on target all match.
73: And on comes Kodjia - he replaces Bolasie, who has had a very good evening for Villa so far. He goes off to boos - he did turn down Boro to join Villa in the summer after all!
71: All about game-management for Villa now. A fourth win in five is now in their sights. Kodjia is being readied on the sidelines.
68: That's also Abraham's sixth goal in a week. What a seven days for the Chelsea loanee.
GOAL! BORO 0-2 VILLA (Abraham, 64)
Villa come forward again after a corner is only half-cleared, and Bolasie whips in a terrific low ball across the box.
It looked like El Ghazi was ready to tap in at the back post, but striker's instinct saw Abraham stretch out a leg to score his 11th goal in Villa colours.
BORO 0-1 VILLA
63: A couple of subs for Boro, their last two, with Braithwaite and Assombalonga coming on to replace Tavernier and Hugill.
61: Bolasie tries to weave his way through the Boro defence, but comes unstuck. However, Villa do have a corner.
Grealish takes, Bolasie flicks on, but he's then penalised for a foul when the ball comes back into the middle.
58: Boro were about to make a triple sub, but they've halted that tactical switch as Pulis brings on McNair for Fry.
57: Bolasie is up and looks okay, but Fry remains on his front, and the medical staff have gestured to the dugout that that is his game over.
A 50-50 collision, but Fry looks dazed.
55: Nasty collision between Fry and Bolasie and they're both down getting some treatment.
53: WIDE! Grealish sends Bolasie on his way down the left, and his low cross sails wide of the far post.
51: End to end again this half - difficult to predict where the next goal is coming from. Villa have shipped seven goals in their last two games, and will be desperate to hold out for a clean sheet here. Obviously.
49: El Ghazi's cross is turned just wide for a corner from Fry, who will be a relieved man. Hourihane goes over to take, it's another routine from the training ground but Boro eventually clear.
47: Bright start to the half from Boro, a dangerous cross comes off Elmohamady but trickles wide, and Nyland dives just in time to prevent the corner.
Boro get the second half under way.... but only after the referee orders a re-start!
Villa head into the break 1-0 up thanks to James Chester's goal in the 20th minute. They've managed to break down the league's best defence, but an open game means it remains anyone's guess with 45 minutes left to play.
45: TWO minutes added on.
43: PENALTY? Again, the referee says no, but McGinn doesn't look too aggrieved. The Villa midfielder was lining up for a shot and went down with Clayton sliding in, though it looks like the Boro man pulled out of the tackle last minute.
41: Hourihane crosses, it hits the man in the wall but still goes into the box. However, Chester's header bounces off Tuanzebe and bounces out for a goal-kick.
40: Taylor goes down and Villa have a chance to cross one in from out wide. A late tackle from Fry, Hourihane standing over this one...
38: CHANCE! Downing's effort is blocked by his own player! After Nyland fumbles a cross, the ball is back with Downing, but his strike hits Hugill - and then the flag goes up as he's in an offside position!
WATCH: CHESTER'S OPENER
See how Chester gave Villa the lead...
33: The corner is played short and the eventual cross is headed out for another corner! Besic goes over to take...
He crosses it to the near post and after it ricochets into the air, Nyland gathers gratefully.
32: Boro's turn to attack now and the hosts have a corner. They're happy to take their time though with Tavernier ready to take.
30: El Ghazi is down, Batth is telling the Villa player to get up. A late challenge, but not intentional.
28: Boro have improved since going a goal down, playing with more urgency. An open game this following Chester's opener.
BORO 0-1 VILLA
26: An absolutely vital block from Tuanzebe out wide. Not sure where the rest of Villa's defence was, but had Downing found Hugill in the middle it almost certainly would have been 1-1.
24: OVER! Some neat footwork from El Ghazi on the edge of the area, but after dancing past a couple challenges, he sends his effort over.
PUNCHING AT THIN AIR
Randolph couldn't get to the corner... and Chester was there to pick up the pieces.
GOAL! BORO 0-1 VILLA (Chester, 20)
No penalty, no matter... Villa take the lead moments later.
Randolph tries to punch a cross away but he can't quite get there, and after a couple of ricochets, Chester manages to bundle it home for the opener. Villa deserve that.
BORO 0-0 VILLA
18: NO PENALTY! Abraham is calling for a penalty after going down under a challenge from Friend. The referee says no, but replays show the defender clearly trod on the striker's foot. Can see why Abraham is unhappy!
16: Villa on top now and looking most likely to score. Grealish carries the ball to the byline before cutting it back to Abraham, but his effort on the turn is blocked.
El Ghazi then goes on a mazy run for Villa and even into the Boro box, but he is shepherded out wide before losing the ball.
14: Can't exactly repeat here what Dean Smith said on the sidelines... he thought it was in, we can tell you that much!
12: BIG SAVE! The hand of Randolph denies Abraham, with the Boro 'keeper leaping to his left to deny the Villa striker following Bolasie's low cross in.
9: Few clear-cut chances so far this half. Very evenly matched. Villa have enjoyed a fair share of the possession, but it'll take a lot to break down Boro's defence.
6: Villa have a corner, and it's a well-worked routine as Hourihane meets the low cross 15 yards out. However, he can't keep his effort down.
Moments later, Bolasie tries his luck from 25 yards out but it bobbles harmlessly wide.
4: Tavernier catches Elmohamady napping and Boro go on the counter, but Downing is crowded out on the edge of the area and the former Villa man loses possession.
