Bournemouth forward Lee Tomlin has joined Bristol City on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has only featured in the Premier League with Eddie Howe's side six times this season.

Sky Sports News HQ reported he was in Bristol and his move to Ashton Gate has now been completed.

The Cherries signed Tomlin from Middlesbrough on a three-year contract for a fee in the region of £3.5m in August last year.

Boro paid £1.5m to acquire Tomlin from Peterborough in January 2014 but he struggled to cement his first-team spot in manager Aitor Karanka's plans during pre-season.

He started his career at Rushden before moving to Peterborough.
