N'Golo Kante believes Chelsea can turn a disappointing Premier League campaign into a 'beautiful season' by winning the Europa League.

Chelsea sealed their place in the last four of the competition with 4-3 second leg win against Slavia Prague to set up a semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

They remain in the hunt for a top-four league finish ahead of the visit of Burnley on Monday Night Football - but should they miss out, Chelsea will still get into the Champions League if they win the Europa League.

"We can make the season beautiful by winning the Europa League," said Kante.

Maurizio Sarri says finishing in the top four is just as important as winning the Europa League.

"That's the only title we can win now, so it would be great to win the Europa League.

"We'll go into the semi-final [now] with confidence and we hope to qualify for the final."

Chelsea raced into a 3-0 lead in Thursday's quarter-final second leg against Slavia Prague at Stamford Bridge, only for the visitors to pull three goals back for a fraught finale.

Maurizio Sarri says Olivier Giroud knows Chelsea will exercise their option to extend his contract by another 12 months and there is nothing the striker can do about it.

Maurizio Sarri's men prevailed 4-3 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate, with Pedro on target twice and Olivier Giroud notching his 10th Europa League goal of the campaign.

Chelsea are now into their ninth European semi-final in 15 years but Kante dismissed the notion the Blues are favourites to beat in-form Eintracht, who currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga.

"We're not favourites. We played a good match [against Slavia Prague] and we will do all we can to get to the final," said Kante.

"But we're not favourites. I think it's important to be in the semi-finals, it was our target."
