Striker hoping to secure loan move to Villa Park

Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier is close to making a decision regarding a loan deal for striker Omar Cummings. The Jamaica international has been training with Villa and is keen to secure a temporary move to the Premier League strugglers. Cummings is currently on the books of Colorado Rapids and would have to return to the Major League Soccer club in March. Houllier has been pleased by Cummings' performances in training and is ready to decide whether to add the forward to his squad. "I see Omar getting better and better with every training session," said Houllier. "I will make a decision about him soon. It will be a loan deal and we would need a work permit." The Villa boss has already signed Kyle Walker and Jean II Makoun in January and is eyeing further additions as he seeks to lift the club away from relegation trouble.
