Blackpool now have two goalkeepers on their books ahead of the start of the Sky Bet Championship season.

The Seasiders brought in Joe Lewis from Cardiff City on a season-long loan earlier in the week and they have now signed Elliott Parish on a free transfer from Bristol City.

Parish, who previously spent a week on trial at Bloomfield Road, has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with an option of a further 12 months.

The 24-year-old was with Aston Villa and Cardiff City before moving to Ashton Gate last summer.

He made 26 appearances for City last season but was loaned out to Newport County in February before being made available for transfer at the end of the season.

Parish played in Blackpool's friendly against Burnley on Saturday, and is set to be included in the squad for Saturday’s season-opener against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

He told Blackpool’s official website: “I’m really pleased to be here, it’s a step up from Bristol City coming from League One to the Championship, so I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“Joe Lewis is a friend of mine who I know from Cardiff, I look forward to battling it out with him, and it’ll be a good season.”
