England captain Kane has 'significant' injury, say Spurs

Tottenham have confirmed that Harry Kane suffered ankle ligament damage, and Dele Alli fractured his hand during their Champions League victory over Manchester City on Tuesday.
Kane was forced off after his own tackle on City full-back Fabian Delph resulted in the damage to his left ankle, to which he suffered a similar injury earlier this season which kept him out for more than a month.
Tottenham have yet to provide a timeline for a possible return for the England captain, who left the stadium on crutches.
A club statement released on Thursday said: "Following assessment over the past two days, we can confirm that Harry Kane has sustained a significant lateral ligament injury to his left ankle following a challenge in our Champions League quarter-final, first-leg win against Manchester City.
"Investigations are ongoing and he will continue to be assessed by our medical staff over the coming week."
Spurs were dealt a further blow when Kane's England team-mate Alli went off clutching his left hand later in the second half.
Tottenham have confirmed that Alli suffered a fracture, but there remains hope that he could be available to face Huddersfield in the Premier League on Saturday.
"We can also confirm that examinations have revealed that Dele Alli fractured his left hand during Tuesday's fixture," the club statement continued.
"The England midfielder will now be assessed to determine his availability for this weekend's fixture against Huddersfield Town."
Fourth-placed Spurs remain in a tight battle to secure a top-four Premier League finish, with just five points separating third-placed Chelsea and Manchester United in sixth.
Mauricio Pochettino will also have one eye on Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg against City, with Spurs taking a 1-0 aggregate lead to the Etihad Stadium.
