Philippe Coutinho caught the eye again, but was it Riyad Mahrez's last Foxes appearance? We look at five talking points from Liverpool's Premier League Asia Trophy win against Leicester.
Craig Shakespeare's men made a good start to the game as Islam Slimani nodded home in the 12th minute, but Mo Salah restored parity eight minutes later with his own headed finish.
But the goal of the day went to Coutinho after hitting the sweetest of strikes to put the Reds in front and ultimately seal their victory in the Hong Kong tournament.
Here, we pick out five talking points from the game...
Although not unusual for the tricky Brazilian, he shone during the match at the Hong Kong Stadium and was directly involved in both goals that oozed with quality.
His chipped assist for Salah to score the equalising goal showed his already-acute understanding with the Egyptian while his own effort was superb - a thunderous curler that nestled in the bottom corner.
The question now is if the Reds can keep hold of their star man - his link-up play with Salah and Roberto Firmino already a hugely exciting prospect - as Barcelona continue to sniff around.
His performance on Saturday is unlikely to deter the reported interest of the La Liga champions, especially if Neymar is heading elsewhere, although Jurgen Klopp is adamant that Coutinho is staying.
Three games in for Liverpool's £34m signing and it's looking like he could be a fine acquisition, with Salah having a hand in the two strikes on Saturday.
He scored Liverpool's first goal - taking his tally to two in three appearances - having set off the move himself, as he slid the ball across the top of the box for Coutinho's chip before racing into the space to finish it off.
He did the same just before the break as he found Firmino following a darting run across the top of the box, with the Brazilian then teeing up compatriot Coutinho for his dazzling finish.
The two vital contributions were supported by numerous tricks, flicks and crosses from the channels, although some were arguably more successful than others.
But overall, it has been a strong start from the former Chelsea winger and he will be hoping it paves the way for him to prove he can cut it in the Premier League.
Rumours continue to swirl that Mahrez could be departing from Leicester after he handed in a transfer request at the club, with Roma also having a recent bid rejected for the winger.
Craig Shakespeare is taking the view that the Algerian will play for Leicester until something changes and Mahrez started both games in the Premier League Asia Trophy, scoring a great goal in the victory against West Brom.
Indeed, after the penalty shootout win on Wednesday, the Foxes manager said: "He is in a good frame of mind. He is our player and until that changes, he has trained really well and there was no consideration to leave him out."
But with that being said, more clubs could come calling for Mahrez's services in the near future and Saturday's match has the potential to be the last for the winger in a Leicester shirt.
Jurgen Klopp was vocal about Liverpool's defence in his post-match interviews, and it remains a sticking point for the Reds boss after Slimani scored the opening goal for Leicester with a free header.
"I thought we could have defended the first goal seven times already, but in the end it is a cross and a free header so it's not nice but it's what happens," he told Sky Sports.
"I liked everything I saw but that [defensive work] is something we need to fix 100 per cent. I know it is pre-season and we can change it but it is something I don't like already so we need to work on it."
Arguably he has already gone some way to solving the problem he faces, signing left-back Andy Robertson and providing some relief in the position that was largely covered by James Milner last term.
But there is still plenty of work to do if Liverpool are looking to seriously compete in multiple cup competitions next season, with some more reinforcements potentially in the pipeline.
Leicester showed off their trademark counter-attacking style in Hong Kong on Saturday, allowing Liverpool to see plenty of the ball before hitting them on the break.
While it may be in the team's DNA to play in that fashion, Shakespeare did admit that his side need to improve their ability to break down their opponents with the ball.
"I'd like to think that is part of our identity, we are a good counter attacking team," he told Sky Sports. "When we have to have possession and break teams down, we need to improve on that, but we have the quality in the team to do it."
With Shakespeare sure that his side are capable of playing in a different style, we could see a switch from Leicester in their upcoming pre-season games to test their resolve when faced with an extended spell of possession.
