This transfer saga of the summer shows no sign of waning. The Football Whispers ranking has dropped 0.1 in the last 24 hours.

According to Sky in Italy, Manchester United have had an £85m bid for Paul Pogba rejected by Juventus last week.

They have reportedly been told by the Italian champions that a world-record transfer fee in excess of £100m for the France midfielder would be accepted.

It is understood Juventus have now accepted Pogba wants to leave the club, although the cost of the deal has already priced Real Madrid out of the market. After Saturday's International Champions Cup win on penalties at Melbourne Victory, Max Allegri said "negotiations" were taking place, with Pogba's future uncertain.

United's initial offer was made during a meeting between executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, Pogba's agent Mino Raiola and Juventus general manager and CEO Giuseppe Marotta.

Pogba remains on holiday and will not return to Turin until August 6.

Pace is gathering behind the possibility of United beating rivals Manchester City to the signing of the young Brazilian forward. His ranking has risen from 1.7 to 2.8 in the last 24 hours. 

Dubbed the 'new Neymar,' a host of Europe's elite names are reportedly locked in a battle with United and City to secure the talented 19-year-old, who has impressed after a series of excellent performances for his club.

He's also expected to shine for his country when they host the Olympic games next month.

Fabinho drops one place to third in Manchester United Football Whispers with a rating of 2.7 - although this has dropped dramatically from 4.1 over the weekend - as media reports continue to link the right-back to a £22m move to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his defence and has touted the 22-year-old as a potential signing.

Fabinho, who is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League, and Mourinho share the same agent in Jorge Mendes and the Brazil international made his only loan appearance at Real Madrid under the new United manager in May 2013.
