Manchester United reportedly have two plans to land Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, as we round-up the latest rumours on Wednesday, May 16.

Cristiano Ronaldo is wanted by United, who have two plans to sign the Real Madrid forward, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol.

The first includes a swap deal with Paul Pogba and a fee of £43m, while the second would see them launch a £142m bid to re-sign their former player.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's Real Madrid team-mate Toni Kroos is leaning towards a move to Manchester United, reports from Don Balon have claimed.

He has been earmarked as a replacement for the retired Michael Carrick, with the Germany international said to be keen on a Premier League move.

Fred has admitted he will consider his future after the World Cup. He was named in the Brazil squad earlier this week and the Manchester Evening News reports that United are among the clubs interested in signing him.

Speaking to SporTV, he said: "I'm very happy at Shakhtar. I've been working well here but it has been five years. I made it clear to the club that I was very happy here but I want to make a bigger leap in my career. There are other clubs interested in England and France. I want to make a bigger leap, I made it clear to the club.

"Now I just have to wait to get through the World Cup and see which is the best destination. I think I have to change a little. I have dreams of playing in major clubs in Europe. I made it clear that it's my moment.

"The club are reluctant to release (me). I have a contract until 2021. As soon as I come back from the World Cup we will sit down, talk and look at the options."

Jose Mourinho will try to tempt AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci to Old Trafford this summer, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.

The Italy international has endured a frustrating season, while Mourinho wants to add to a defence that he has not been entirely pleased with.

Clubs will have to part with £88m in order to sign highly-rated defender Kalidou Koulibaly, with the Daily Star reporting that Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested.

The Napoli centre-back has been linked with a move away from the Serie A side over the last few windows.
