Essential stats for live Premier League games on Sky Sports this weekend

Wolves vs Leicester, Huddersfield vs Manchester City and Fulham vs Tottenham live on Sky Sports Premier League this weekend

ESSENTIAL STATS

There are three live Premier League games to look forward to on Sky Sports this weekend with records to be broken and avoided, plus a new face with a big job on his hands in the dugout on Super Sunday.

Wolves vs Leicester, Saturday from 11.30am

The weekend's live action begins on Saturday lunchtime when Leicester make the trip across the Midlands to face Wolves - and history suggests the opening goal in this one may not be too critical.

Live Premier League

Leicester have taken more points after conceding first than any other team this season - winning three of those games, including a memorable 2-1 win over Manchester City on Boxing Day.

But Wolves have also shown resolve this season, taking nine points after shipping the opening goal.

And in the only previous Premier League meeting against Leicester at Molineux, Wolves came back from 3-0 down at half-time to win 4-3, some 15 years ago.

That result is one of only two games in Premier League history that has seen a team come from three behind at half-time to win - the other being Manchester United's 5-3 win at Tottenham in 2001.

Huddersfield vs Manchester City, Sunday from 12.30pm

Super Sunday's action starts in Huddersfield and Terriers' caretaker manager Mark Hudson could not face a tougher start, hosting last season's champions Manchester City.

The 37-year-old is in the dugout for the first time, but he did make nine Premier League appearances in his career - losing eight and drawing once.

Strangely, that happens to mirror the last nine results for Huddersfield, which culminated in the departure of David Wagner on Monday after three years in charge.

A first-ever Premier League win for Hudson would be Huddersfield's first victory since November.

Meanwhile, City's next goal will be their 100th in all competitions this season - they are comfortably the highest scorers in English football - while Huddersfield have only managed 13 goals, the fewest across the leagues.

City have scored six more goals in the last fortnight than Huddersfield have managed all season, 19 to 13, while 10 members of their squad have already chipped in with goals in 2019.

At their current rate of a goal every 31 minutes, Pep Guardiola's side could even be targeting the all-time record for most goals scored by an English club in a single season - the 156 scored by Manuel Pellegrini's City in 2013/14.

Huddersfield have failed to score in a joint-high 10 Premier League games, but will hope that a change in the managerial hot seat can help them pull off the shock of the season so far.

Fulham vs Tottenham, Sunday from 3.30pm

This weekend's action concludes at Craven Cottage with the 20th of 30 London derbies in the Premier League this season - and hosts Fulham are looking to avoid equalling an unwanted record.

All six of Fulham's derbies this season have been defeats, with just three goals scored and 18 conceded. In Premier League history, only QPR have ever lost seven successive London derbies during the 1995/96 season.

Tottenham's last league derby was a 4-2 defeat against Arsenal at the start of December. That result ended an impressive run of seven successive Premier League derby wins for Spurs, including four this season.

But if Fulham were to upset the odds, Tottenham would be facing their first back-to-back defeats in Premier League London derbies since March 2014, when Tim Sherwood was in charge.

Tottenham will be without Harry Kane until March after suffering an ankle injury in the defeat to Manchester United last week - and Sunday will be only the second time in 69 league games that a Tottenham teamsheet is missing his name.

Overall, Kane has only missed nine Premier League games since his first start under Maurico Pochettino in November 2014.

Tottenham have lost only once in those games, but Kane's replacements have not been prolific.

Heung-Min Son and Vincent Janssen have managed only one goal each when stepping in as the starting striker - Janssen's from the penalty spot.

With Janssen out of favour and Son on international duty, Fernando Llorente could be handed only his second Premier League start for Spurs - having scored in his only start one year ago against Swansea.

So plenty to look out for in Sky Sports' live Premier League action this weekend - it all begins at 11.30am on Saturday with Leicester's trip to Wolves.

Then on Super Sunday it's a David vs Goliath clash as Manchester City visit Huddersfield from 12.30pm before we head down to the Cottage for a London derby between Fulham & Tottenham at 3.30pm.

All three games are live and exclusive on Sky Sports Premier League & Sky Sports Main Event.
