England youth international Bennetts, whose mother comes from Hamburg, has penned a deal with the Bundesliga club which runs until 2022.

Bennetts progressed from the Tottenham academy and became a regular in the U23 side.

He told the Bundesliga club's website: "Borussia is one of Germany's biggest teams.

"I'm really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Borussia-Park."

Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl is confident Bennetts can continue his development in Germany.
