Former Italy international Fabrizio Ravanelli has revealed he has upset his wife by accepting the manager’s position at Ukrainian side Arsenal Kiev.
Ravanelli, whose former clubs include Juventus, Marseille, Middlesbrough and Derby, has signed a one-year deal with Arsenal, who were promoted to the Ukrainian top-flight last season.
The 49-year-old said: "I am grateful to Arsenal for the invitation. We are opening a new page of cooperation, which, I hope, will be long and fruitful,"
"My wife wasn't very happy with this, but she knows how important it is for me. My three children understood it too."
Ravanelli has been linked with a number of coaching vacancies in England and Scotland in recent years. Sky sources understand the Champions League winner had agreed to take over as manager of Indian Super League Delhi Dynamos in 2016 before missing out on the job to compatriot Gianluca Zambrotta.
Ravanelli was a youth coach at Juventus for two years but his only experience managing a team was a brief stint at Ajaccio in the French top-flight in 2013 where he was fired at the start of November after winning only one of his 13 games in charge.
