Wolves are close to agreeing a club record-equalling £18m deal to sign Atletico Madrid loanee Jonny Castro Otto on a permanent deal.
The club is expecting to complete the move before Thursday's deadline in a deal which will equal their club-record spend on Adama Traore from Middlesbrough in August.
The 24-year-old full-back enjoyed an impressive first half to the season at Molineux, playing 21 games across all competitions and scoring one goal against Southampton in September.
Since joining Wolves, Jonny has been promoted to the senior Spain national team and made his debut in the UEFA Nations League clash with England in October.
He missed four Premier League games after suffering a knee injury while on international duty but has otherwise been ever-present in coach Nuno Espirito Santo's starting line-up.
Jonny moved from Celta Vigo to Atletico Madrid in July 2018 for £6.3m and signed a six-year contract but was immediately loaned to Wolves on a season-long deal.
Last week Espirito Santo insisted Jonny was happy at Molineux but there was no real update on his transfer situation.
"What I can say about Jonny is we are very pleased and happy with him and I think he is also happy to be here," he said.
"He works hard and stays focused knowing that people take care of the other business. Our job is to train and compete.
"Jonny and I only need to be focusing on what's happening on the pitch and our tasks. We are preparing for the game tomorrow; we don't get distracted by anything or anyone."
Wolves face West Ham at home on Tuesday night with Manuel Pellegrini's side one point behind them in the table.
