Wolves sign Leander Dendoncker on permanent deal

Wolves have signed Belgian defensive midfielder Leander Dendoncker on a permanent deal, following a season on loan from Anderlecht.
The Belgian scored twice in 19 top-flight appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves in 2018/19, helping the club to a seventh-placed finish and Europa League qualification in their first season back in the Premier League.
He also featured in every round of their FA Cup run bar one, as Wolves reached the semi-finals of the competition.
There was an obligation for the club to buy the 24-year-old in the loan contract when he arrived at Molineux from the Belgian side in August 2018.
Dendoncker became Nuno's second signing of the summer after Raul Jimenez made his loan move permanent in April, with Wolves smashing their transfer record to buy the Mexican from Benfica for £30m.
On the Belgian committing his future to the club, Kevin Thelwell, Wolves' sporting director, said "He came in a bit later in the window and took time to settle and get used to the way in which we operate and play, but since he broke into the team he's been terrific.
"He's very professional, very honest and very hard-working, so he fits the team perfectly. I believe a lot of the success we had in the second part of the season was down to a big contribution from him.
"There was always an obligation to turn Leander's deal permanent, so we're delighted it's worked out the way it has. He has been a welcome addition to the group."
