Portsmouth continued their assault on League One's automatic promotion spots as a 2-0 victory over Tranmere left Kenny Jackett's side just six points off first place.
Goals either side of half-time from Sean Raggett and Ryan Williams earned the visitors their ninth straight win in all competitions.
The opener came after just 13 minutes as Portsmouth profited from some statuesque defending.
Not a single defender moved towards the ball as Ronan Curtis whipped a free-kick into the box, and Raggett could barely believe his luck as he nodded home unmarked from close range.
Rovers' response was spirited, with Andy Cook forcing Alex Bass into a couple of decent saves from close range.
But this is a side who have now failed to score in four consecutive league games, and as such they lacked confidence and conviction.
Their heads dropped when Williams made it 2-0 just after the break, finding the bottom corner from 20 yards with a shot that Scott Davies will have been disappointed to let in.
