Huddersfield head coach Jan Siewert hailed the performance of Jordan Pickford after seeing his new side beaten 1-0 by Everton on Tuesday night.
The former Borussia Dortmund reserves boss is aware of what needs to change if the Terriers are to stage a second miraculous escape from relegation with the side failing to score for a fourth game.
Huddersfield last went longer without finding the back of the net in October 2002, and head to Stamford Bridge this Saturday against Chelsea hoping to avoid equalling their record of five games without a goal.
Siewert was encouraged by his side's performance against Everton, however, saying: "I saw why [Jordan] Pickford is England's number one with incredible saves.
"We shouldn't find excuses. We need to focus. It's a process which has started and I saw many things I implemented in training.
"The most important thing is we created chances and the goals will come. The lads got my ideas and we had chances."
Aaron Mooy and Elias Kachunga had Huddersfield's two best chances but they were punished for a sloppy start as Richarlison was allowed to react first to his own shot to fire Everton into a third-minute lead.
Siewert must have felt his side's fortunes would turn after Lucas Digne was sent off midway through the second half, but his side were unable to break down a resolute Everton defence.
It means that Huddersfield have failed to score in 50 per cent of their home Premier League games (16 of 32) - the highest percentage in the competition's history.
"I'm disappointed but I'm proud," Siewert added. "We had several chances and we couldn't have had a worse start. But we developed our game, and that's what I'm really proud of as we've only had seven days to work together.
"The aim is to get self-confident out of the situations that we had because we had many positive moments and we need to focus on these."
