With less than two months remaining until the January window opens, the transfer talk is hotting up.

Manchester United showed an interest in Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini during the summer. The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in the past and may well emerge as a United transfer target when the window reopens in January. Pellegrini rejoined Roma in 2017 from Sampdoria having started his professional career in the Italian capital. (Calciomercato)

Leonardo Bonucci was 'surprised' not to start in Juventus' win over AC Milan on Sunday night. It would have been the veteran defender's first time facing his old club after an unsuccessful one-year spell at the Rossoneri last season. "To be honest, I was surprised too when the coach gave the line-up," the 31-year-old said. Juve beat Milan 2-0 to move six points clear in Serie A, with Mario Mandzukic and Cristiano Ronaldo getting on the score-sheet. (Sky Sport Italia)

Milan, meanwhile, are hoping to bolster their ranks in January by signing at least one big-name player. While the club are currently working to bring in Leonardo Paredes from Zenit St Petersburg, the Rossoneri are also exploring the possibility of pursuing Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who incoming chief executive Ivan Gazidis knows well from his time at the Emirates. Serie A trio AC Milan, Fiorentina and Sampdoria are chasing Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini. The 26-year-old has struggled for goals at St Mary's of late, with just five in 33 games last season and one in 10 appearances in the current campaign. (Calciomercato)

France

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho tried to keep news of Paul Pogba's injury secret ahead of the club's defeat to Manchester City on Sunday. The Portuguese boss knew the World Cup winner would not be available for selection after sustaining a knock in the win over Juventus. Both Mourinho and Pogba are 'pessimistic' about the injury, placing doubt over the 25-year-old's potential involvement with France during the international break. (L'Equipe, via Sport Witness)

Real are also keeping close tabs on defender Mario Hermoso, who has impressed for Espanyol this season. (Marca)

Meanwhile, Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno has praised Solari's work as caretaker boss after overcoming Celta Vigo 4-2 on Sunday. "The truth is that we are very happy with him," Butragueno said. "There is no doubt that he came at a very particular moment and has been able to achieve very good results." Having revived Madrid's season, the Argentinian is now firmly in contention to get the job on a permanent basis. (Marca)
