Michy Batshuayi continued his good start to life with Borussia Dortmund as he scored again in a 2-0 win over Hamburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

On-loan Chelsea forward Batshuayi opened the scoring in the 47th minute, netting his third goal in two games for Dortmund. Mario Gotze then wrapped up the points at the end.

Dortmund move up to third with the win as they stretch their unbeaten run to seven games under Peter Stoeger, who gave defender Manuel Akanji his first start and Marco Reus the captain's armband 259 days after he sustained a cruciate ligament injury in the German Cup final last May.

Bayern Munich are 18 points clear at the top of the table after beating Schalke 2-1.

All the goals were scored in the first half, with Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller netting either side of Franco Di Santo's equaliser.

Lewandowski's sixth-minute opener at Allianz Arena saw him match current Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes' record of scoring in each of Borussia Monchengladbach's first 11 home fixtures during the 1972-73 season.

Bayer Leverkusen's hopes of earning a place in next season's Champions League were dealt a blow by defeat to Hertha Berlin.

Valentino Lazaro opened the scoring for the capital club just before half-time with a neat right-foot finish and Salomon Kalou doubled the advantage 12 minutes into the second half.

Three goals in eight second-half minutes proved decisive as Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Cologne 4-2.

Ante Rebic gave the hosts a 15th-minute lead, only for Simon Terodde to level for the bottom club with a 57th-minute penalty after he had been fouled by Makoto Hasebe.

Marco Russ restored Eintracht's lead two minutes later with a header from a Marius Wolf free-kick, and it was 3-1 when Simon Falette tapped in from close range after poor defending by the visitors.

Eintracht made it 4-1 in the 67th minute when Wolf beat goalkeeper Timo Horn with a low shot into the far corner.

Terodde broke through again with 16 minutes remaining - but the result does nothing for Cologne's survival prospects.

Hoffenheim ended their recent poor run with victory by the same margin at home to Mainz.

Adam Szalai opened the scoring in the 27th minute following a through-ball from Serge Gnabry, only for Emil Berggreen to equalise soon after with a header from a Daniel Brosinski free-kick.

However, Andrej Kramaric stabbed home Hoffenheim's second from close range midway through the second half after the visitors had failed to clear, before Szalai grabbed his second seven minutes later.

Although Berggreen's second 10 minutes from time set up a lively finish, the hosts wrapped up the win in the 88th minute when Kramaric became the game's third player to net twice.

Hannover defeated Freiburg 2-1 with help from Waldemar Anton, who opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a powerful low right-foot finish from the edge of the area.

Felix Klaus doubled the advantage nine minutes into the second half, before Manuel Gulde replied a minute from time.
