Who would make a combined XI of Manchester United and Liverpool players? We asked the Soccer Saturday pundits ahead of Sunday's Sky Live showdown at Old Trafford, and you can also pick your XI below...

Phil Thompson

I'd go with David de Gea in goal and then a back four of Liverpool's defence that is available on Sunday.

Georginio Wijnaldum and Paul Pogba are in midfield and then Marcus Rashford with Liverpool's front three.

Paul Merson

Just picking from the players that are available on Sunday, I'd go De Gea in goal, although I do like Alisson. Then I'd go Luke Shaw at left-back.

Right-back would be Trent Alexander-Arnold and centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip, who is probably better over a distance than Victor Lindelof, who I think has turned a corner.

Midfield would be Pogba and Wijnaldum.

Then a front three of Mohamed Salah, Rashford and Sadio Mane, with Roberto Firmino just behind.

De Gea is in goal then, from the players that are available, I'd have the back four all Liverpool and front three all Liverpool; who would you change?

I am a massive fan of Rashford, I think he's a wonderful young talent, but Liverpool's front three together are brilliant.

After making his Manchester United debut almost three years ago, we take a look at some of Marcus Rashford's best Premier League goals

The debate is in midfield. Pogba on his game I would put in, but he has to play further forward. He has got world-class ability. Sometimes he can be a show pony but I would put him in for his ability.

Then I'd have Wijnaldum and for the sake of balance I'd probably edge towards Nemanja Matic.

Matt Le Tissier

I am going to pick this assuming everyone is fit.

De Gea gets in goal. Van Dijk is in the team then Andy Robertson at left-back, Alexander-Arnold at right-back and the other centre-back would be Joe Gomez.

I would go Wijnaldum and Pogba in midfield and then the other place is probably the trickiest spot.

I would probably stick James Milner in there out of the rest. He is 'Mr Consistent' and 'Mr Reliable' and a manager's dream with his versatility as well.

The forwards I would go with Salah, Mane and Rashford.
