Rotherham and Shrewsbury could not be separated as they drew 1-1 at the Don Valley Stadium.

Le Fondre's penalty cancelled out by Leslie

League Two play-off rivals Rotherham and Shrewsbury could not be separated as they drew 1-1 at the Don Valley Stadium. A penalty from star striker Adam Le Fondre had given the Millers an early lead, but Steven Leslie earned a point for the Shrews before half-time. The match began at a lively pace and Rotherham were denied an opener when Tom Pope and Le Fondre both had efforts cleared by the Shrewsbury defence during a goalmouth scramble. But Ronnie Moore's side had the lead in the 12th minute when Le Fondre thumped a penalty straight down the middle of the goal after being brought down by Graham Coughlan. Shrewsbury responded and began to pass the ball well on a pitch that was cutting up in the wake of the recent snow and Rotherham goalkeeper Andy Warrington was forced to make an excellent save to deny Dave Hibbert. Rotherham did not take heed of the warning and Paul Simpson's Shrewsbury were level on the stroke of half-time as Leslie poached an equaliser after Warrington could only palm a long-range effort from Paul Murray. Both sides went in search of the win in the second half, but neither Warrington nor David Button could be beaten, while Shrewsbury substitute Craig Disley was carried off with what looked a serious injury in the closing stages.
