Southend twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw away at Tranmere on Saturday.

Both sides end a feisty contest with 10-men

Southend twice came from behind as their League One clash with Tranmere ended in a 2-2 draw, while both sides finished the game with 10-men. Striker Ian Moore put Tranmere ahead at Prenton Park in the eighth minute when he volleyed home in style from a Chris Shuker cross. But the lead only lasted a minute when Alex Revell deflected a Kevin Betsy cross past Rovers goalkeeper Danny Coyne from close range. Rovers were ahead again in the 14th minute when Bas Savage made ground before he beat Southend goalkeeper Adam Federici with a superb 20-yard strike. But against the run of play United levelled in the 35th minute when Betsy fired home after a Hal Robson-Kanu shot rebounded off a post. United striker Francis Laurent was dismissed for a butt on Ryan Shotton during a 71st minute flare-up while Tranmere's Jennings was also sent off for a second booking in the 83rd minute.
