Tottenham rounded off their pre-season with an emphatic 6-1 win over Inter Milan during a friendly in Norway on Friday afternoon.

Harry Kane bagged a brace and opened the scoring after five minutes with Kyle Waker brought down by Cristian Ansaldi in the box to win a penalty that was duly converted by the England striker.

Inter briefly got back level after a well-taken goal from Ivan Perisic, but the impressive Erik Lamela added a super second for Spurs just before half-time.

Tottenham then raced away with the game in the second half, with Dele Alli adding the third followed by Kane's second, and further strikes from summer signing Vincent Janssen and youngster Shayon Harrison to complete a positive afternoon for Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs will now return to England to prepare for their opening game against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, 13 August.

It took five minutes for the game to sees its first goal. Walker was brought down in the box by Ansaldi and the referee pointing to the spot despite protests from the Inter defender. It was captain Kane who stepped up, and he rifled his spot-kick down the middle to put Spurs ahead.

It could have been two not long after, as Walker tapped the ball into the path of Christian Eriksen on the right before the Denmark international in turn found Ryan Mason in the middle of the box. The midfielder took a touch but somehow skewed his effort wide of the post at point-blank range.

Inter then started to get a foothold in the game after a fast Tottenham start as Ever Banega went for the spectacular, curling a delightful effort towards goal - causing Michel Vorm to leap - but it fizzed wide.

But Perisic put the Italian club on level terms on 24 minutes, with Banega playing him in on the left, allowing the Croatia international to take a touch before hitting on the half-volley and firing past the Tottenham goalkeeper.

And there were still goals to come and a moment of magic from Lamela with five minutes of the first half to play. After an intricate build-up, Kane squared the ball to his team-mate at the top of the box and he let fly with plenty of space, curling his shot beautifully past Samir Handanovic to put Tottenham back in front.

It was all Spurs in the second half, and the first of four goals came seven minutes after the restart with a great strike from Alli, playing a one-two with half-time substitute Janssen, before firing home from the edge of the box.

They could have added another four minutes later as Kane nodded wide at the back post before Lamela tried to loop the ball into the net, but the duo linked up again seconds after to add Spurs' fourth goal.

Lamela sprung a counter-attack and played in the England striker on the left of the box. Kane took one touch before shooting and seeing the ball once again fly past Handanovic.

Mauricio Pochettino says he is looking ahead to the start of the season

Not one to be left out, Janseen capitalised on some poor defending from Inter who closed down Alli on the edge of the box - but not before he had time to slip the ball into his new team-mate's path and allowing him to surge forward almost unmarked to slot home from close range.

Pochettino stuck to his word and gave some of his youth players a run out in Scandinavia and the sixth came courtesy of 19-year-old rising star Harrison just minutes after coming on for Alli.

The goal came following more clever play from Janssen, who started off the move, playing in Lamela on the right of the box and while he was surrounded by defenders, Harrison was able to move into the middle of the box, collecting the Argentine's pass before sweeping home to cap off a polished Spurs performance.
