The top flight's two Merseyside clubs Everton and Liverpool are the only Premier League teams who will be able to have fans in their stadiums following the announcement of the new tier regulations.
With Hampshire and Sussex having been moved into Tier 4 from midnight on December 26, along with areas in the South East and the East of England, the cities of Brighton and Southampton were moved from Tier 2 restrictions to the stricter coronavirus regulations announced by the prime minister Boris Johnson on December 19.
Up to a maximum of 2,000 supporters will be allowed back into stadiums in Tier 2 regions, as long as clubs continue to follow strict COVID-19 safety measures, but games being played in stadiums in Tier 3 and Tier 4 regions will continue to be behind closed doors.
