Sheffield Wednesday have parted company with manager Jos Luhukay on the eve of Saturday's game against Preston
Luhukay departs after just under a year in charge, with Wednesday having won just one of their last 10 games.
Having been beaten 2-1 at Swansea last Saturday, the Owls are 18th in the Championship table, five points clear of the drop zone.
The manager's departure comes two days after Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri announced the South Yorkshire club was up for sale.
A club statement said Luhukay had left by mutual consent and Chansiri said: "I would like to place on record my thanks to Jos for the efforts he has given to Sheffield Wednesday.

"But now is the right time for both parties to move on and I wish him all the very best for the future."
Lee Bullen has taken charge of the club on a caretaker basis.
Dutchman Luhukay began work at Hillsborough in January, having enjoyed success in Germany.
Wednesday finished 15th at the end of last season and have failed to improve this term, leading to the departure of the 55-year-old manager - who won 16 of his 49 games in charge.
